Wish You Had Photoshop, But Don't Have The Cash?

If you are anything like me, you have spent at least some period of time drooling over the website showing the new Adobe Photoshop CS3 version. It's alright, you can admit it...it's a beautiful piece of software. There is still one small problem though, the price! Oh my, it is not cheap, is it??

So what are you supposed to do if you enjoy graphic design but don't have the cash to cough up for Photoshop? The next option is to look towards a wonderful thing called freeware. And it just so happens that there is a great piece of freeware out there for graphic design. It is called GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) and can be downloaded for free on their website.

It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.

I'd encourage you to go check it out and come back and leave a comment letting everyone know what you think about it, good or bad.

Luke
